Yes, you read right. A cheese festival right here at the Prahran Markets - 163 Commercial Rd, South Yarra on Saturday 24 October 2015. The market is open from 7am to 5pm and if we know anything about the Prahran, South Yarra, Chapel street area; parking is difficult to find, so plan well.
With free tastings, samples and demonstrations on offer, it's the place to be. The Cheese Providores including Calendar Cheese, Red Cow Cheese, King Island Dairy and Prahran Market's own Cheesemonger Anthony Femia and more can be found. Make sure you get down here and get a little bit cheesy.
1pm is the time for Free Edible Adventures with Alice in Frames, along with a Cheesy Pop Up Market at Market Square. Would you believe there's also a Milk the Cow Fondue Tent, Meatmaiden Mac n Cheese Marquee and lots more.
That's not the end. You'll get a chance to win a 'Cheese Cake' valued at $300 by Naheda's Choice Deli. Competition details will be released soon so stay tuned. There may even be a hint of a cheese wheeling competition. If so, lets hope it's not as dangerous as the one at Cooper's Hill near Gloucester in England where it's an annual event gaining world wide attention and competitors. Say 'Cheese'!
