Cheap Tuesdays are a Sydney institution! Here are a few ideas if you want to deviate away from pizza or the movies and try some of our premier bar venues in central Sydney.

1) $1 hot dogs at Soda Factory

Don't let the name or entrance fool you, this new bar occupying 16 Wentworth Avenue in Surry Hills is as cute as they come. Tea-light candles, wooden and leather vintage furniture soul music and nourishing food await once you past through the garish 50's entranceway with checkered vinyl flooring and sign saying 'Bobby's Boss Dogs'. Tuesday nights sees the team serving up one of the cheapest meals in the city with their gourmet range of hotdogs costing only a measly $1 (usually $10). 2) $3 tacos at The Norfolk

The Norfolk – everyone's favourite pub on Cleveland Street in Surry Hills (number 305) serves up delicious $3 tacos on Tuesday nights. No longer do you need to travel down to the Flying Fajita Sisters in Glebe to get your hands on some yummy affordable tacos! With the influx of gourmet fusion Mexican in town (think El Loco and Mejico) it is a relief to see that the humble taco is still available in a budget-friendly manner. Wrap up tight with your winter woolies and enjoy the beer garden out back whilst you get your tastebuds nice and spicy with these Mexican morsels.

3) $10 steaks at Cargo Bar

The easiest way to a man's heart is through his stomach. It is just as easy to do cheaply as it is to say the phrase with Sydney's infamous Cargo Bar at Cockle Bay Wharf serving up steaks by the waterfront for $10 a pop Monday-Wednesdays. Cargo has several specials running throughout the week and is a fantastic venue for larger groups; click here for more details. Monday - Wednesday; salad and fries and your choice of sauce complement a cut of grain-fed rump (no hidden charges here for the accompaniments) so head to the waterfront to get some quality protein for minimal charge.
