Ice Skating at the Icehouse
Take advantage of Tight Ice Tuesday at the Medibank Icehouse. Every Tuesday, hit the ice between the hours of 9am to 3:45pm or 7pm to 10pm at a tantalising discount rate. Pay just $15 including skate hire ($11 without), rather than the usual $25 adult/$23 concession fee. Best of all, from 7pm on Tuesdays, they play indie rock, electro and dubstep music rather than their usual daggy pop.
Sadly, the discount rate is not available on school holidays and on public holidays.

Locals' Night at the Hotel Albion Locals' Night at the Hotel Albion is neither for locals nor is it one night. It spans over Monday and Tuesday, and you don't have to be a local or a regular to get a discount. From 6pm, all main meals are reduced to just $15.50, while a pint of their beer of the month is $6.50. They boast a huge selection of classic pub meals, salads, and pasta and risotto dishes, all of which are usually in the $18 to $26 range.

Tightarse Tuesdays at the Hawthorn A favourite haunt of students, the Hawthorn Hotel comes alive on a Tuesday night. Free entry and food and drink specials make Tightarse Tuesdays one of the cheapest nights out you can have in Melbourne. Specials change from week to week. Check out their Facebook page for their current deals.
Make your Tuesday night big by also hitting Cheers Tuesdays at Casey's Nightclub nearby. With drink specials and free entry if you get there before 10:30pm, many patrons make a habit of heading to both venues over the course of their night. It only takes about five minutes to walk between the two.

Vegan and Vegetarian Night at the Victoria Hotel Most pubs slash prices on steak on a Tuesday evening, but the Victoria Hotel in Brunswick dedicates their Tuesday to taking care of the vegos. All vegan and vegetarian meals are reduced to $12, with the kitchen being open for dinner from 5pm until 9pm. Their sumptuous veggie options include the mushroom and haloumi burger, eggplant parma, vegetable linguine, bitter battered tofu and more. Usually, these meals will set you back $15 to $18.
