$10 movie tickets, Greater Union Arndale, Event Cinema
Our $10 tickets

Greater Union Event Cinema at Arndale, Kilkenny, S.A. is the latest cinema to join the price war. With regular tickets at $10, Cinebuzz members at $9 (with a see six movies get one free deal), and 3D movies at $13 the Arndale Cinema will be hard to bypass.

Currently playing in January 2017 are:

Trolls (G) - an animated offering from the makers of Shrek, full of colour and song.

Allied (M) - a war piece set in 1942 starring Brad Pit as a French-Canadian spy who falls in love with his companion on a mission and marries her. They have a child, but several years later all is not as it seems…

Moana (PG) – popular children's offering featuring a girl who attempts to sail to a legendary island.

Assassins Creed (M) – mature gaming adaption follows the adventures of Callum Lynch who is the last remaining descendant of the Assassins association. Full of special effects and excitement.

Why Him (MA15 ) – comedy. A father takes a dislike to his future son-in-law despite the facts that he is rich and devoted to the daughter. (So what is the problem one has to ask?) Designed to get the laughs.

Sing (G) – koalas producing musical theatre. Nothing could be cuter and have more appeal for young audiences!

Rogue One: A Star Wars story (M) – the story of Jyn Erso, daughter of the designer of the Death Star. If you ever imagined that the plans were stolen by stealth – think again! This is a mediocre movie, but a must-see if you are following the Star Wars saga.

Red Dog – True Blue (PG) – an Australian legend, Red Dog was discovered on the road to Dampier. I have heard this is very good.

La La Land (M) – love story set in the musical circles of Los Angeles.

Passengers (M) – science fiction film, stars Jennifer Lawrence of "Hunger Games" fame. Two passengers from a cargo of hundreds of immigrants to another planet wake up early. This turns out to be fortunate for them because the ship begins to break apart.

The Edge of Seventeen (M) – two girls are best friends until one begins to date the other's brother. Interesting exploration of sibling rivalry and the unwritten rules of friendships and relationships.

Movies coming soon include:

January 12: Collateral Beauty (M), Monster Trucks (PG), Middle School – worst years of my life (PG) and Ballerina (G)

January 19: XXX3 - The Return of Xander Cage (yet to be classified) and Lion (M)

Janurary 26 (Australia Day): Split (M) and Resident Evil the final chapter

Arndale cinema is a comfortable cinema with ample parking and convenient bus stops. The interior is air-conditioned and the foyer features arcade game machines and skill testers, a candy bar, and toilets. Plush carpets lead through to the cinemas, which have comfortable seats with movable arms for couples to cuddle together.
