Cheap dates that don’t feel cheap
We all know that date nights can sometimes get quite pricy with fancy dinners and expensive experiences, and I believe that you should never stop dating no matter how long you have been in the relationship. However, going out on dates is not just reserved for new relationships!
The list below is perfect for sticking to the budget and enjoying a fun date night for under $100 per couple.
1. Aqua Golf
Where: Penrith Panthers Complex, 123 Mulgoa Rd, Penrith When: Daily- Monday-Thursday: 10am-10pm, Friday & Saturday: 10am-Midnight & Sunday: 10am-11pm Cost: Buckets start from $10 to 20 buckets for $140 Details: This fun and friendly competition activity aims to hit balls into targets located randomly on the lake. If you hit the targets, you can win prizes, including cash prizes ranging up to $500!
Also, if you want to complete your date night, dinner is available with the many dining options at the Panthers Club.
2. Axe Throwing For a different adventure experience with doses of healthy competition, axe throwing is a fun and exciting date night idea. There is two axe throwing experiences in Sydney:
Maniax and Kiss My Axe
Where: Marrickville & St Peters There are three options:
Maniax Monday Mayhem- 2 for 1 Quick Chuck Session- ($90 per couple). This includes two throwers for the price of one, for a 1-hour axe throwing session for two people.
Quick Chuck ($90 per couple) includes 1 hour of axe throwing in one lane allocated, or if it's a double date. Two lanes will be allocated.
The last option is Date Night ($120 per couple only at Marrickville)- slightly above budget; this includes a brief introduction, lessons from the axe-parts, one-on-one training from your axe-pert, and a tournament against yourselves. The session is for 2 hours.
Kiss My Axe:
Where: Alexandria or Brookvale
When: Every Tuesday
Cost: $99 per couple
Details: Two for Tuesday includes a team of 2 battling it out in a healthy competition with other couples/pairs to see who is the power duo.
This includes two hours of axe-throwing and doesn't require any experience. All levels are welcome. If you want to splurge a little, they have food and bar packages available.
There are a couple of Mini Golf experiences across Sydney; these include:
Where: Newtown, Castle Hill, North Strathfield, Darlinghurst, Chatswood, Wollongong and Charlestown.

Details: This bar theme and mini-golf theme experience include 9 or 18 holes. There are also darts, karaoke, escape rooms, bowling, an arcade, and more. Please note each venue features different activities.

Cost: $34 per couple
Details: This indoor putt-putt mini golf features themes on three different courses, American, Under the Sea, and Egypt.
4. Luna Park

Details: This fun and thrilling date night include rollercoasters, a sideshow alley, thrill rides, carnival games, and more. Tickets include unlimited rides.
5. Double Daybed Cinema Experience
Where: Selected Event Cinemas
When: All year round
Cost: $66 per couple or Members: $60 per couple or $33 per couple on Tuesdays
Details: The Double Daybed experience offers a romantic cinema experience that allows you to snuggle up and enjoy watching the movie together. Tickets also include a popcorn tub.
6. Go Karting
Enjoy a date night filled with thrills and spills as you race each other on karting tracks! Below is a list of some Go Karting venues across Sydney:
- Hyper Karting
Where: Level 5 Carpark, 207 Park Rd S, Moore Park
When: Daily: 9 am-Midnight
Cost: $58 per couple – special prices (at time of writing-normally $59pp)
Details: The company's German-made RiMO electric karts are faster than petrol go-karts and hit their top speeds quicker, making it a "need for speed" experience. The best feature is the F1-style steering wheel that displays racers' live stats throughout the race.

- Fastlane Karting

Cost: $74 per couple for 10 minutes
Details: Fastlane Karting is more than just a Go Karting complex. It features themed nights, an outdoor firepit, and public viewing platform.
- Picton Karting Track
Where: 200 Picton Rd, Picton
When: Monday-Sundays: 10am-5pm
Cost: From $70 per couple
Details: Powered by the Subaru 4-stroke engine, these karts are the epitome of high-end go-karting racing. There are nine corners to race around and a hairpin bend. There is also a mini-golf course on site. Mini golf is $15pp ($30 per couple)
- Spitfire Paintball & Go-Karts
Where: Cnr George Street & Station Avenue,

Details: There are state-of-the-art lap timing software, big-screen displays, full-motion racing car simulators, laser-tag arenas, and paintball. Making Spitfire a one-stop for an adventure date night.
- Sydney Premier Karting (Formerly known as Eastern Creek Karts)

Details: Take a spin at the home of Australia's fastest go-karts and the largest go-karting complex in the world with speeds over 100km/h!
- Entertainment Park

Cost: $70 per couple for 10 minutes
Details: This new location in Sydney is also home to E-karting, bowling, hologate, racing simulators, and more. The e-karting arena is an indoor fumeless experience and speeds up to 85km/h.
8. Art After Hours
Where: Art Gallery of NSW, Art Gallery Rd, Sydney
When: Every Wednesday: From 5:30pm
Details: Yes, you saw that right, a free date night! Every Wednesday, the Art Gallery opens its doors for an evening of live music entertainment, gallery tours, drawing workshops, film screenings, lectures, and more. All activities are free.
9. Bowling & Arcade
There are many bowling and arcade venues across Sydney that offer a date night for under $100, with some of them including food!
Kingpin Bowling– venues include Darling Harbour, Macarthur Square, and North Strathfield.
Each venue offers different activities, including karaoke, arcade, escape rooms, laser tag, virtual reality, table tennis, and bowling!
Archie Brothers- Home to classic arcade games, redemption games, bumper cars, virtual reality, thrillrider, bowling, and laser tag.
Strike King Street Wharf is not just home to stunning Sydney harbour views. It also features ten bowling alleys, karaoke and escape rooms.
10. Happy Endings Comedy Club
