Where is it more expensive to park than New York and Paris? You've got it: Brisbane. On a point on the northern bank of the Brisbane River sits Brisbane. The Brisbane central business district (CBD), colloquially referred to as 'the city', is the heart of the state capital of Queensland, Australia. Brisbane River creates city boundaries to the east, south and west. The point, known at its tip as Gardens Point, slopes upward to the north-west where the city is bounded by parkland and the inner city suburb of Spring Hill to the north. The CBD is bounded to the north-east by the suburb of Fortitude Valley. To the west the CBD is bounded by Petrie Terrace. With a few tricks up your sleeve and a bit of planning ahead, you can park in the Brisbane CBD for $5; sometimes even less if you're watching your email inbox.
One free option with no voucher code, is at Wilson's Waterfront Place. If you know that you can make it to your destination and back within an hour, you're set. If not, you're up the creek and $40 poorer, for so much as one extra minute over the hour.
Metered parking in the CBD can be tricky; read the signage carefully. Depending on what zone you are in, metered parking will run you from as little as $1 per hour, to $4.70 per hour (in zone one) at the time of publication.
Myer Shopping Centre offers early bird rates and weekend shopping rates as low as $5 per day, with a minimum spend of $50 in the shopping centre (see link for terms and conditions).
A bit of planning ahead (as little as 20 minutes), and a few simple, one-time-registration steps, and you're on your way to the cheapest (sometimes free) parking in the Brisbane CBD (currently 20 locations) and beyond (Fortitude Valley, Milton, and Spring Hill) with Secure-a-Spot Online Booking.
Book in advance, choose your location, entry, and exit time, and receive an entry code by email. For all Secure-a-Spot bookings, you have a 15-minute grace period prior to the entry time of your Secure-a-Spot reservation period. If you exit the car park outside of your reservation period, you may incur fees in addition to your Secure-a-Spot booking fee. When you book early bird, evening, or weekend, you will have more flexible entry and exit conditions. You may only park at the nominated location.
Sign up for Club Secure to receive notifications of special promotions, competitions, and voucher codes offering discounted and free car park deals.
