Baking, making fun -**
Make a gingerbread house with the family/friends/partner.
Up for grabs in Aldi for $5.99. Want that homemade touch? Why not make gingerbread festive cookies. Many recipes online for gingerbread dough but if you're useless in the kitchen why not pick up some al-readymade from IKEA for $4.49. Pastry cutters aren't essential because you're sure to amuse yourself with your own creations but if you're the neat freak Stepford wife type, you can also pick them up in the Swedish homeware store for $4.99. After you've licked your ginger doughy fingers. Head to the town hall on Swanston Street for a free mini Melbourne gingerbread exhibition.
60c Christmassy date -
Take that special person to the Southbank grab a 30c whippy from Macca's and take a leisurely stroll along 'Kissing bridge' pausing briefly under the mistletoe for a pash. Watch the sunset lazily by the Yarra on a cosy bench whilst listening to 'Christmas Time - Cliff Richard' on your mp3 player. How romantic and cheap as chips!
For a good old giggle -
Check this Christmas offering from John Travolta & Olivia Newton-John online. MAJOR CRINGE WARNING. It is for a good cause so spread the festive cheer.
Post Christmas Zen -
You've eaten way too much. You've partied harder than the Beastie Boys told ya to. You're drained. And seriously broke.
