As a somewhat wrinkly reviewer, it seemed best to send a seven year old and a nine year old (and their mum) to Charlie and Lola's Best Bestest Play.
It was proclaimed as the best show ever from the 7 year old, who continued to sing the theme music over and over on the bus ride home, AND was role playing the dialogue to tidy her room next morning. - it was an enjoyable outing.
The 9 year old loved the whales in the bath and the way the bubbles spilled into the audience to make it look like the whales were really splashing.
The Mum's verdict? "It was a wonderful way to introduce children to a live theatre production- an intimate show in the cosy Cremone theatre involving puppets and real life toys in a whimsical adventure with Charlie and Lola. The audience was enchanted with the antics of whales jumping in the bathtub, the elephants on safari and the cheeky tigers drinking pink milk at the dinner table.
