Launched recently by two partners Charlie and Leo, the duo have stepped out of the corporate world to take a new direction and follow their foodie passion. They dreamed of working for themselves and running their very own cafe.
It's a family friendly cafe where locals gather or drop in for a takeaway coffee. The friendly staff are all smiles and make you feel right at home. Alicia, the barista makes a smooth coffee using Axil roasted coffee beans or choose from a selection of Tea Drop teas or Prana loose leaf chai if you prefer a more traditional marsala blend.
The food menu is adventurous and has a great selection for everyone's pallet. As it wasn't quite lunch time we decided to order from the All Day Breakfast menu. My dish was the Avocado on organic multi grain toast. The free range poached egg was done just right, no vinegar taste. Presentation of the dish looked amazing, topped with a generous serve of goat cheese and sprinkled with house made almond dukka for texture and balancing out the flavours.
I was tossing up between two dishes so my partner ordered the Pumpkin and Zucchini fritters. Wedged in between the two stacks was rocket leaves and topped with capiscum and tomato relish and delicious grilled haloumi cheese. It's great to see more vegetarian options on the menus. There is also a great selection of drinks, from smoothies and juices to craft beers, wines and ciders.
The interior is spacious with a modern design and a slight industrial touch. With plenty of seating inside and out. Charlie & Leo's is quickly becoming a local favourite. A great place to enjoy a delicious healthy breakfast or lunch. Pop in for your morning coffee after dropping the kids off to school. Or a place where you can meet up with family or friends! The staff are very welcoming with a warm and friendly vibe!
