Get your golden tickets to an amazing youth production of the beloved Charlie and the Chocolate Factory!
You and your family are invited into a world of pure imagination when North Sydney Kids Musical Theatre Company (NSKMTC) present their deliciously fun production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on May 3, 4 and 5 at the Star of the Sea Theatre, Manly. Tickets are now on sale for this strictly limited season.
Under the direction of Sarah Jarvis, the talented NSKMTC cast of 50 actors, singers, dancers and triple-threats, aged 7 to 18, bring this much-loved story to life.
Based on Roald Dahl’s 1964 children’s book, the stage production of
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory features the classic songs from the 1971 film, including 'Pure Imagination,' 'The Candy Man' and 'I’ve Got a Golden Ticket,' alongside the toe-tapping 2013 Broadway musical score.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is the tale of chocolate maker extraordinaire, Willy Wonka, who is opening the gates to his mysterious factory - but only to a lucky few. Young Charlie Bucket and four other Golden Ticket winners will embark on a life-changing journey through Wonka’s fantastic world!
The NSKMTC cast has been busy in rehearsals since the November 2023 auditions and castings. Willy Wonka will be played by Xion Jarvis, 15, who previously starred as Charlie Bucket in the 2019 professional production at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre. Two talented young ‘Charlies’ have been cast - Kai Azoum and Ayla Ryan - who will rotate performances. This ensemble musical includes plenty of roles the kids can sink their teeth into, from sweet grandparents, overbearing mums, dodgy dads, bratty kids and of course, the kooky Oompa Loompas!
“The beauty of our production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory is that people of all ages can come along and be entertained by a quality production while supporting some of Australia’s next generation of musical theatre talent,” says Sarah Jarvis, director.
Don’t miss NSKMTC's theatrical treat full of sensational singing, dancing and more, more, more!
