For every Thai food lover in Sydney, it is not a mystery that in order to indulge yourself in a range of exotic spices, Newtown is the place to go.

After considering a myriad of places along King street, we reached the end the commercial road and by sheer fortune, we opted for . Not that we belong in AA, but our first question was if they did BYO. The waiter nodded and pointed us towards the closest liquor shop. And, Louis, that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

For starters, we tried the curry puffs and prawn money bags - both consisting of crunchy rich pastry shells that enclose delicious aromatic spices and ingredients bursting with flavour which will surely stimulate your appetite.

Undeniably, the Pad Thai and the Pad Se Ew were sensational, but it was the curry what caught my attention and prompted me to go back. With its exquisite flavour and enthralling aroma, the curry simply engulfed my senses.

Next time, I went with another friend, we skipped entrees and ended up trying three different types of curries. Not that the dishes are small, but with flavours like this, you'll make room. Besides, this time we were sitting in the backyard, with a big bottle of wine, so we had time to delight our senses.

Depending on the curry - with Taylor Swift's permission - your palate could end up in burning flames yet it will always reach paradise. We tried the whole rainbow - yellow curry, green curry, red curry, panang curry, massaman curry - you name it! And we did so mixing and matching with either chicken, beef, vegetables, tofu, prawns, pork and seafood, yet it never disappointed.

However, I'll confess my all-time favourite curry is Panang - the buttery nutty flavour of peanut with the delicate notes of coconut milk in a heavenly synthesis with eggplant plus its aromatic spices just send me through the roof each time.

After visiting the place a few times, the owner started to recognise me and asked me if I lived in the area, if I studied in the area or if I had friends in the area. After every negative reply, I could tell he had found out about my addiction problem. And that is how found out that the place was actually named after the owner - the most charismatic, attentive person you'll meet in hospitality. That is why the service there is excellent - quick, they pay attention to detail and they make each time a special time.

Whether you go out for a date or are just hanging out with your friends, won't disappoint because it is Thairrific, and Thailicious. Charles... Thai love you!
