If you're worried about your kids spending all holidays curled up in front of their X-Box playing Minecraft, why not take a look at the City of Charles Sturt Free School Holiday Sport Program. For 5 days they're offering kids a free introduction to a range of different sports. Let your kids find a new sport to fall in love with, or just have some fun during the holidays.
The program involves is offered in conjunction with a range of different clubs and community groups. You can choose between surf life saving, soccer, tae kwon do, basketball, rollerskating, and even dragon boating--just to name a few of the available options. You don't have to worry about buying an expensive uniform or keeping your Saturdays free for the rest of the year; this is a way to have some fun without the commitment associated with many other sporting clubs. Most of the time all you'll need to bring is a drink bottle and some sports shoes. It doesn't matter what experience your children have, everyone is welcome to give it a go.
To get involved your kids have to be between the ages of 5 and 17. The registration form can be found online; you just need to fill it out, select the sports your kids are interested in, and send it back. Some classes have limited spaces, so make sure you're only signing up for activities you'll attend, otherwise other kids will be the ones who end up missing out.
