As part of their Meet the Author program to coincide with the National Year of Reading 2012 , The Burnside Library in conjunction with Dymocks and Fox Creek Wines of McLaren Vale, has scored a real coup in organising 2 major author events to be showcased on the same evening: American bestselling author Charlaine Harris and Dr Michael Chamberlain.


The first event is an unique opportunity to meet and hear the International Paranormal novelist, Charlaine Harris speak about her writing experiences and her best known novels The Southern Vampire Mysteries, which are also known as The Sookie Stackhouse Novels, the vampire novels behind HBO's True Blood, and her comic book adaptation for the first book in the Harper Connelly series, Grave Sight.


Charlaine Harris is a New York Times bestselling novelist who has been writing mysteries for over 20 years. Her more recent books have been in the urban fantasy genre, which are urban fantasies set in contemporary times with supernatural elements.




Charlaine Harris: Her visit to Burnside Library is exclusive to South Australia.
When: Wednesday, 1st August at 6.00pm.
Where: Burnside Ballroom, 401 Greenhill Road, Tusmore.
Bookings are essential: Cost: $10:00 which includes drinks on arrival and refreshments provided.

Dr Michael Chamberlain will talk about his latest book, Heart of Stone which has been described as "an iconic book, substantial in text, well documented, easy to read and guaranteed to shock."
