Calling all trivia buffs to come to East Maitland Bowling Club at 2pm on Sunday September 20, 2015 to help fundraise for Assistance Dogs NSW.
Puppies are trained by Assistance Dogs NSW to help people who live with severely limiting disabilities. It costs almost $30,000 a year to train an assistance dog, so come and help the hard-working trainers of these smart puppies to keep up their good work.
On the day, Avalon, a 12-week-old Labrador Retriever and a few of his doggie pals will be there. Dog lovers will have a chance to have special cuddles as well as show your witty trivia prowess. All in all, a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
If doggie cuddles aren't enough to entice you to come along what about prizes? There will be plenty of prizes including an amazing lucky door prize. Keep an eye on the
website for more announcements about this soon.
The cost of a ticket is $16.50 and purchasing tickets early is recommended if you're a dog and trivia lover. Proceeds will go towards training more puppies to do the every day things able bodied people take for granted: remove shoes and socks, pick up after kids, put garbage out, reminder to take medications or Medic Alert for people who suffer seizures. These puppies grow into very smart dogs who provide independence for people with severe disabilities.
As another special treat, you will meet a 16-month-old Australian Labradoodle who is being trained to help a profoundly deaf 15-year old boy, William. Come and hear their story, raise funds to train the newest recruit puppy, Avalon, and have a doggie-friendly afternoon of trivia.
