Riverside Pizza and Thai Cafe is hosting a charity event to support young local mother Donna Duff on Sunday, October 14.

A huge raffle featuring generous donations from local businesses including Austral Cafe, Edward's Plumbing, Balcony Restaurant, and Wollumbin St Bakery will be on offer, with all proceeds going directly to Donna and her family.

Donna has been struck down unexpectedly with a neurological disorder called Transverse Myelitis, caused by inflammation of the spinal cord. This has resulted in Donna's hospitalisation and subsequent immobility. She is now confined to a wheelchair, with hopes that extended rehab will help her walk again.

Community support of Donna and her family, including two small children, extends to this charity event, which is aimed at raising the funds needed to support her in hospital and subsequent rehab.

The night will offer free live entertainment and finger food for those taking part in the raffle. Diners are encouraged to book their table early, with $1 from every meal will be donated to Donna.

Riverside Pizza and Thai Cafe lives by their motto of putting their customers first and offering affordable meals in a friendly setting, with a relaxed dinning atmosphere. Located in the heart of Murwillumbah (northern NSW), their menu encompasses home-style pizza, pasta, and Thai dishes, with vegetarian options available.

Riverside Pizza and Thai Cafe is open Tuesday to Sunday from 5pm. On the night of the fundraiser, the restaurant requests that bookings be made in advance for diners. If you haven't been before, there's plenty of parking available onsite.
