[ADVERT]She sells sea shells by the sea shore. Try to say that five times fast!

A display of beautifully polished sea shells caught my eyes in Charbella Gift Store , in the seaside suburb in Cronulla.

With spring around the corner, I thought it's time to put gloomy winter behind us and brighten up to create a new fresh look to your home décor.

Sea shells are so pretty and an inexpensive way to redecorate. They are versatile, bringing a light, happy mood to your home, and can be reminders of a special sea side holiday or add a touch of romance with their soft coloured hues.

Grab a few that catch your eye and pop them in an interesting glass jar to sit on your coffee table, or buy a basket and fill it to place in your lounge room. Choose a selection that pulls at your heart strings in soft coloured hues and create a cluster to draw romance to your bedroom.

They even look great scattered around your bathroom or stuck on the tiles in creative patterns - use blue-tac and you can recreate your designs without damaging your tiles.

Hang an inviting delightful wreath on your front door to de-stress after a long day at work or a multi shelled mirror will look great inside your entrance.

Bring a sense of lazy summer days with a wind chime, their natural qualities make soothing sounds as they sway in the breeze while you sit in the sun and read a book.

When you entertain during the summer months, create an enjoyable exotic island mood to relax your friends by hanging a few long strands to hang in a corner on your patio.

Go one step further and set your table with these delightful round place mats, where the shells are woven together with thin wire, and place a crisp white napkin in the elegant carved shell napkin rings.

Cook up a seafood storm, serve delicious fresh fruit for dessert and you will be pushing your friends out your door as they will linger way too long.

Dust collectors, I hear you say. All you have to do is wash them with a very mild soap in warm water, let them dry, and they will illuminate your home once again. Too easy.

Charbella is located in Surf Road, Cronulla in the newly revamped building that used to be a church, then a library, and is now home to some exciting homeware items to change your mood and your home.

While you are there, check out some other items to compliment your new sea shell look with pastel cotton cushions, soft ottomans or delicately scented candles.

So take a trip to Cronulla one Sunday and let your creative juices run riot with ideas on how you can change your home to enjoy the upcoming warmer months.
