At the bottom of the Mark, one of the new Founders Lane apartment buildings in Braddon, is Chapter 4 Cafe. Chapter 4 is a smallish cafe with only a few tables inside, but what they lack in size they make up in flavour and style. The cafe has an industrial look with Edison light bulbs, contemporary light shades, long timber benches and concrete floors. Yet the small size makes the cafe seem cosy and inviting.
Here they offer take away coffee using coffee beans from Seven Mills Coffee Roasters as well as a number of take away sweet treats from Seven Mills Bakery. However, if you are after a relaxing sit down breakfast, brunch or lunch, then they have you covered for that too!
The menu here is not extensive with 12 or so choices on the all day menu, but there is enough variety on the menu to be able to find a dish or two to order. From my visits, I also noticed that the menu changes up, so if you see something you like, order it as it might not be there next time! But on this particular visit, it was a hard decision between three dishes; the classic smashed avo, the baked mushrooms and the corn fritter.
In the end, I decided to go with the corn fritter with poached eggs, bacon and hollendaise sauce. And I was not disappointed in my selection;, the eggs were cooked perfectly, the corn fritters themselves were delicious and the hollandaise sauce was creamy. As someone that often experiences food envy, I can happily say there was definitely no food envy that day!
