Chapman Playground, Weston Creek

Chapman is a suburb of Weston Creek, 15 minutes south of the city. Tucked away in the local backstreets near the Neighbourhood Oval is the "Once Upon a Time" playground. As children enter the playground, all the play equipment is story booked themed with medieval flags, turrets and a castle to climb. If your kids love climbing rope ladders and sliding down fireman poles, then this playground will be an ideal playground to visit when in the area.
The highlight of the playground for my daughter, aged four, was the "castle". Kids can either climb up the rope ladder to get up to the top or enter by the wheelchair accessible ramp at the back. Once at the top they can pretend to be Kings or Queens of the Castle and come down via the tunnel slide or the firemans pole at the back.
In a shaded area of the playground is a climbing fort, with a number of tricky ways for the kids to climb up and down. Our daughter found some of the poles too far away to reach out to, however older kids will enjoy the challenge.
This park is perfect for little climbers, with yet another climbing apparatus to master further up the playground. There are different walls within the apparatus to climb up with rock studs on the wall or different rope ladders to get to the top.
If your kids love to have a run around, Chapman Neighbourhood Oval is just behind the playground with plenty of space to kick a ball, play cricket or fly a kite. There is parking behind the playground and a number of seats to stop for a snack in the shade or sun, depending on the weather.
This quiet playground is tucked away in Chapman and is worth trying to find if you live in the local area or are visiting nearby. It is larger and newer than the average local park where the kids can use their imagination and test their skills.
Why not check out your local park this weekend for some free family fun!
