If you've decided to have a break from the stress of preparing for Christmas, and are having a timeout this year, Fed Square in the city has you covered. The Chanukah - Pillars of Light program runs from Wed 25 Dec 7pm to Mon 30 Dec 2024 9.30pm. This event's highlight is on the values of compassion, kindness, the pursuit of understanding and tolerance - just what we need right now. It transcends religious and cultural boundaries to be a unifying force for all attendees. If this aligns with your ethos, read on for the program. Now in its fifth year, this is a joyous 5 day event featuring a myriad of faith and cultural communities each night, amidst music, dance, art and storytelling, for a unique opportunity to experience different customs and traditions. It's an event that aims to build bridges of understanding and strengthen the bonds that unite our multicultural community regardless of faith or cultural heritage.

Each day brings a different MC, Speakers, Menorah Lighters and Performers. From bands to a Fijian Dance Group, a Choir, DJs and more, this festive event has something for everyone in the lead-up to the New Year, and it's all free. A wonderful way for the City of Melbourne to give back to its community to ensure everyone has somewhere to go, complete with entertainment for free. See the website for full details.
