A warm drink, a friendly face and learning a new skill. These things are so important when you want to feel like you are a part of a community. If you are struggling to find friends or if you just want to learn something new and interesting, then head down to Hillview Intercultural Community Centre to take part in a
Macrame Art and Chai workshop.
Running fortnightly throughout the school holidays, Fridays are now known as chai days. Everyone is welcome, and if you are looking on the day a craft expert is going to run you through how to master the art of knot tying. It sounds simple enough, but there are so many intricacies that you will have a lot to learn in these macrame art classes. If you have tried macrame before, you will be aware of all of the amazing and beautiful pieces that you are able to create. You don't need to have any experience though. You will be able to make something wonderful by the end of the class.
While you are tying knots, you will also be able to share a cup of tea coffee or chai. Chat with the other students in the class and maybe you can make a new friend or two. This is a class for everyone- whether you are a new migrant to Australia, someone who was born and raised here or someone just looking for something new to do.
These workshops run on Fridays, starting on July 1st, between 9:30am and 11:30am. These classes are also completely free to attend.
