Just had lunch at Chai – Eat Like Malaysian on Pelham Street, underneath the student apartments.
I had their chicken curry on egg noodles – and wow, it was good.
The sauce was oily but delicious: creamy, coconuty and spicy, and there was lots of it.
The noodles were great as well – but approximately ten metres long, which made them difficult to eat. A hundred and one implements were on offer but not a single knife to help with my predicament. I persevered anyway.
I think I spotted bean shoots and a bay leaf, but not much else in the way of veggies.
Seemed like a mixed crowd here. To my left, proper adults were asking questions of each other such as "Do you feel engaged with your community?" and to my right, young adults were keeping it real with "Yeah, but was she hot?"
Sure, I reckon the name of this restaurant could use a little tweaking, but the food was tasty, the establishment was clean, the staff were friendly, and the price was right.

Heads-up: these guys only offer EFTPOS if you spend over $30.
