There is no shortage of restaurants, cafes, bistros and fine dining venues in Brisbane. And we all have our favourites. You know you will find one you like and stick with it time after time, to the point you will walk past another just as many times and never go in. Case in point, the Ceylon Inn in Kenmore has been there for over 5 years, I thought it was new. Sad but true.

Ceylon Inn - Kenmore
We were looking for old favourites but as it turned out something new came our way. We were looking for a restaurant to celebrate our anniversary on a Sunday night out in the western suburbs and hardly any were open.
It is pleasing to note that the Ceylon Inn - Kenmore is not only open Sunday evenings but they serve Sri Lankan cuisine.
According to Wikipedia, Ceylon, known as the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean" because of its natural beauty, became a republic in 1972, changing its name to Sri Lanka. Now the Sri Lankan food they serve at the Ceylon Inn is so tasty and fresh you will want to make this the place you keep going back to.
Though they sit on busy Moggill road, just off the traffic circle, the music they play drowns out the traffic noises. The inside is a warm royal blue, with golden lights, dark wooden doors and screens making the atmosphere comfy and inviting. There is ample seating for many groups and reservations aren't always needed. There is more than sufficient parking located behind the restaurant.

Warm cosy atmosphere
The restaurant serves classic curries, vegetarian, seafood, tandoori and some classic Sri Lankan favorites.

Coconut rice so tasty you won't want to stop eating!
According to our waiter, the naan chef has only taken one day off in 5 years and only because they were closed during the Brisbane floods in 2011. This devoted man with a gift for making naan bread offers up a unique experience. The naan is stuffed with a few different choices. We had 2 types, the first stuffed with cheese and garlic, the other, a mixture of meat and veggies, both tasty and filling, the dips sweet and savoury. You could go in and just eat these for they are delightful and you can't seem to get enough.

Naan made by an expert!
But then you order dinner.
We ordered kaju curry and tandoori chicken. The chicken in both meals was moist and delicious. The coconut rice that was ordered with my meal is most flavourful and included shredded coconut, making this dish sweet and again, hard to stop eating.
The prices are very reasonable, portions are good sizes, you can BYO wine and you can come on a Sunday night out in Kenmore. You can also order take away. Call them at 3878 9900 to make reservations or go
