Certain Women at Golden Age Cinema, a part of them in you?
Golden Age Cinema in Surry Hills exclusively screens Certain Women from Thursday 27th April.
Kelly Reichardt returns with a film that beautifully lingers over the unrelenting but spectacular, moody, Montana landscape, settling on the brief intersecting paths of its female inhabitants.
Certain Women comprises of three vignettes which explore the rural existences of four women and their relationships. Lawyer Laura Wells (Laura Dern) faces an escalating situation with a client (Jared Harris), who won't listen when it comes to his worker's compensation case. Young mother Gina (Michelle Williams) is forced to play bad cop against her husband's (James Le Gros) good cop persona when it comes to parenting and work. Isolated rancher Jamie (Lily Gladstone) has her world rocked after she makes a spontaneous decision to sit in on an adult learning class, being taught by out-of-towner Beth (Kristen Stewart).

Reichardt's films (Night Moves, Wendy and Lucy, Meek's Cutoff, Old Joy) are widely acclaimed for their connection to landscape and quiet, empathetic moments. In her pictures we are able to spend time with characters not often revealed on screen, every day experiences are miraculous and ephemeral and blast home with sincerity. Encompassing sublime cinematography by Christopher Blauvelt, and an all-star cast of actors who often choose a performance role to stretch them, Certain Women will resonate and quietly thrill.
