Ceramic Arts Qld (CAQ) is proudly presenting their Annual Members' Exhibition this September at the Brisbane Institute of Art (BIA).
This FREE exhibition showcases a diverse collection of ceramic artworks, which the passionate members of CAQ have been working on throughout the year.
New to this year's event is the inaugural Siliceous Award for Ceramic Excellence.
Entries have come from all over Australia to participate in the award.
Come along and admire the different styles and techniques - perhaps you may be inspired to try your own hand at the traditional art form!
The public is invited to attend the Opening Night function on Friday 18th September at 6.30pm.
The Guest judge for the Siliceous Award is Damon Moon, who is currently the head of the ceramic division of the Jam Factory in Adelaide, a centre for contemporary craft arts.
Damon Moon continues a family pottery legacy that began with his father Milton Moon in the 1950s, and he is independently known as an internationally renowned maker, writer, presenter, thinker and collector of ceramic art.
Emma Macgregor, President of Ceramic Arts Queensland says "I am pleased that we are able to bring a ceramic award to the Brisbane area. Events like this showcase the work of a range of Australian ceramics artists, and shows the variety and depth of what is happening within contemporary ceramics. I hope to see this event grow over the coming years."
All are welcome to attend the Open Night function. The exhibition will then continue to run until Friday 25th of September, 2015, Monday to Friday, from 9am to 4pm daily.
