'Century of Heroes' Gala

Celebrate the Anzac spirit at the at the Shangri-La Gardens Function Centre , Wynnum West on Friday 17 April.



The fundraising Gala is a celebration of all those who have given service for Australia over the past 100 years focusing on the various war periods covering WW1, WW2 the Korean and Vietnam Wars.



Guests will be greeted by a WW2 Jeep and uniformed 'soldiers' mounted on horses provided by the Queensland Living Heritage Federation and Light Horse Museum. Memorabilia and military items will be on display in the function venue where guests will receive ration books on arrival listing the menu for the buffet meal which will include a welcome drink, some savouries, roast dinner, sweets, and tea coffee all included in the $55 ticket price. A raffle with prizes from accommodation to win will be held on the night.

Readings, audio and video will be presented throughout the evening to signify the various war eras. Musical entertainment of yesteryear with from the 1920's to 1960's and beyond with the Paradise City Jazz Quartet to round off the night with for those wishing to dance on.



All proceeds will be donated to Mates4Mates which supports current and ex-serving Australian Defence Force members who have suffered physical or psychological wounds, injuries or illnesses as a result of their service, either in Australia or overseas. The Rotary Club of Wynnum Manly is a partner for the event.

The is on Friday 17th April 2015, from 18:30 hours at the Shangri-La Gardens 1969 Wynnum Rd, Wynnum West. Tickets are $55 per head and must be pre-paid and can be booked by calling 07 3308-5100. Dress code is formal, or suitable period attire, and if applicable medals/post-nominal.
