Boating on The Lake Central Park New York
I recently spent two weeks in New York on Vacation and loved the whole experience. I did a tour with a professional photographer through Central Park and found so many varied and beautiful things to photograph.
Central Park is situated in Manhattan and was officially opened in 1857 and sits on 778 acres of city owned land. It is known as the lungs of the city and is the one of the most famous parks in the world. Central park offers residents a tranquil place for rest and recreation.

The tour I did is run by Free Tours by Foot in New York. This photography tour runs on a Friday morning at 10 am and you pay whatever you think the tour was worth at the end. You only pay what you can afford. I found the guide very helpful as he gave me advice on how best to take some imaginative photos.
Central Park in itself is a example of environmental excellence. The larger part of the maintenance is done by the Park Conservancy a private non profit Organisation. Thanks to many corporations, businesses and individuals who have invested three quarters of the $700 million dollars to date. The rest has been given by the city of New York.
This is an amazing contribution and adds up to being a $57 million dollar annual operating budget.
There are some interesting places in Central Park. The famous Loab Boathouse restaurant sitting on the lake has some beautiful tranquil scenery around it. Dinning there is a very popular thing to do and it was full on the Tuesday I went with my niece for lunch

You may also come across someone fishing in the lake as we did on the tour. He was a real character a local who comes to Central Park a few times a week to catch a fish or two.The variety of things to see and do is amazing. Join this photography tour of Central Park and enjoy its many attractions under the guidance of a professional photographer. Once you get to know your way around you can go exploring on your own. You will come across people selling maps of Central Park. This will help you to find more hidden gems that are situated all over the park.
