Looking for a new location for your outdoor exercise? Hidden in a quiet street in Tuggerah is the Central Coast Regional Sporting & Recreation Complex, a facility designed for athletic and other social/community events.

The complex encompasses 18 hectares that hold nine playing fields; provisions for a canteen, storerooms, accessible toilets and change rooms (but these are locked and most likely are available for use only during events); car parks and bus zones, and for those who walk for exercise like me, over 2 kilometres of shared pathways.

My family and I have visited the complex numerous times, as we find the paved shared pathway an ideal place to get our exercise done. The pathway is lined with native bushes and during the right seasons, various blooms can be enjoyed during your walk. We have seen the path used for strolling with young kids, walking, jogging, and cycling, however, motorbike riding and horse riding are not allowed as the complex signboard states.

We have seen families enjoy a little picnic on the sprawling lawns, and groups of athletes using the fields for various ball sports practice as well. Water fountains line the main boulevard that runs through the middle of the venue. During non-event days, parking is available outside the gates of the complex.

From the Tuggerah exit at M1, motorists can go down Cobbs and Wyong Roads and turn left on Bryant Drive, Tuggerah, and then right on to 20 Lake Road. It is also a short walking distance from the Tuggerah train station and can be accessed by walking along Bryant Drive from the train station and continuing to Lake Road.

The facility can be hired as a venue for events, more information is available by contacting Central Coast Council.

Random tip: for PokemonGo players, the complex has a gym and two Pokestops along its shared pathway.
