145 King Street has had many incarnations, the latest is a bar and restaurant simply called Central . Built in 1903 Central Hall has been a theatre, Methodist mission and a hatted restaurant. The historic building still has chandeliers and sweeping staircases. There are several themed areas including a mini cinema room and a cafe area at the front.

There is a wide range of Matilda Bay beers on tap as well as a good selection of wines and cocktails. On Tuesday to Friday there are happy hours from 4-6pm where they offer $5 house wine, $10 cocktails and $15 jugs of beer.

The menu has something to tempt everyone but the special deals are great value.

We dined from the 10 for $10 menu and loved the nachos and steak meal. Be aware that these meals cost more if you add special sauces, guacamole, shredded beef etc, but it is written in the board.

The venue is available for functions of 10 to 400 guests in a range of spaces. Come here during the working week for a good value meal in a low key casual environment.
