On the weekend of the 1st & 2nd March 2014, the Royal Australian Air Force will proudly present the Centenary of Military Aviation Air Show. To commemorate this national celebration, a spectacular Air Show with air displays and ground displays will be held at RAAF Williams - Point Cook, the birthplace of military aviation in Australia and the oldest continually operating military airfield in the world.
The flying program will be the same for both days. Gates are open from 8am to 4pm, with flying displays held from 10am to 3:30pm.
One of the highlights of this year's show is the newly built replica of a Bristol BoxKite aeroplane. The Bristol Boxkite was the first military aircraft flown in Australia at Point Cook on 1 March 1914. There are only three other Bristol BoxKites replicas in existence worldwide, which were built for the film "
Those magnificent men in their flying machines." This Air Show will be the first time the BoxKite has been on display to the general public.
Other aircraft participating in the Air Show include current military aircraft such as the F/A-18F Super Hornet, the F-A-18A/B Hornet, the Roulettes, the C-17A Globemaster and C-130 Hercules; Royal Australian Navy aircraft, including the Bell UH-1B and S-70B-2 Seahawk and a diverse range of historical aircraft, including the CAC 27 Sabre and Cessna 180. There will also be an F-35A Joint Strike Fighter replica at the Air Show. The full range of aircraft can be viewed

Rounding out the program will be informative ground displays by the RAAF Point Cook Museum, Military Working Dogs (including the puppy nursery), RAAF fire fighters, Air Load Team demonstrations and Telecommunications ground display, as well as live music performances and much more.
