Celebrity Theatresports presented by Impro Melbourne has been tipped as the show to have inspired 'Whose Line is it Anyway'. Improvisation seems to go hand in hand with comedy and that's exactly what you're going to get. A whole bunch of laughs, a lot of unpredictable comedy and dynamic fun with the glamour of celebrity blended into the mix.

In its 27th year, this event is being held at the grand stage of St Kilda's National Theatre (20 Carlisle street, St Kilda) on Saturday 25 July 2015 at 7.30pm. Approximate running time is 55 minutes for part 1 followed by 20 minutes of interval and another 50 minutes for part 2. Tickets are Adult $35, Concession/Groups of 8 (adults) $25, Children under 15 years $20 CLICK HERE to get some.


The 2015 show is directed by Artistic Director Patti Stiles and the cast features members of the Impro Melbourne Ensemble and celebrity guests, with more being announced. Keep an eye on their event page to keep updated.

So far the celebrity guests include 1) Dean Haglund, an improvisor and stand-up comic who has also had roles in movies and TV shows like The X-Files (Richard 'Ringo' Langley, one of The Lone Gunmen), Bones, Honey, I shrunk the kids and more. 2) Rob Lloyd, improviser, comedian and actor and Dr. Who obsessor, he's performed extensively all across Australia, the UK and North America.

3) Jay Laga'aia, actor and a familiar face on Play School who also had a role in Water Rats among his many credits. 4) Geoff Paine, actor who first appeared in Neighbours in 1986 and went on to work in A Country Practice and more. His film credits include The Craic, Wogboy and the Wedding Party. 5) Queenie van de Zandt is the full package well known for her versatility working musicals, plays, cabaret, TV, film, as a recording artist, comedienne, writer and teacher.

This fabulous night out is packed with creativity with hotly competitive teams vying for the coveted 'Peter Cook Cup'. Using audience suggestions and random events, astonishing scenes erupt on the spot, live and unscripted. Players will craft scenes, songs and mischief. This is a competition at its most mysterious so don't miss out on this one night only event.
