Maleny Celebration of Books invites fellow bibliophiles, writers, wordsmiths, literary folk and those passionate about literacy, to celebrate all things books. Taking place over the weekend on Friday-Sunday, the 13th-15th July, this is a wonderful opportunity for aspiring writers to gain inspiration, rediscover the wonder of books, unlock the writer within, and to discover the work of poets, authors and illustrators, flourishing on the Sunshine Coast and Australia.
This is a yearly event with interesting and creative workshops, along with free and ticketed events in store.
Just to highlight a few of the celebratory events, on Saturday 14th, there'll be a Bumper Book Sale taking place at the Maleny library, where a selection of rare books, DVD's, and children's books can be found. Rummaging through piles of pre-loved books you just may find an excellent read!
If your children love reading stories, a beautiful display of illustrations and children's books by Aleesah Darlison, Emma Middleton and Kerry Ide, can be seen exhibited the Maleny library. The Sunshine Storytime Party is where children can dress up as their favourite characters and listen to some of the best Sunshine Coast children's authors read their books. At this event, books will be on sale for signing. Both of these events are free.
