WA Day, the uniquely West Australian day inclusive for all Western Australians, is set to go off with a bang this year in Fishing Boat Harbour. Fireworks will light up the skies over Fremantle on the eve of the WA Day public holiday!
Join in on the celebration, recognising our Aboriginal history, our early European migrant background and the diverse range of people from all over the world who have made, and continue to make, WA their home.
Local Aboriginal elders will open the event with a Traditional Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country, followed by a range of cultural music and dance events from different ethnic backgrounds. Across the weekend there will be numerous musical performances in and around the harbour, culminating with the Sunday evening Fireworks show which will be held at the family friendly time of 6pm.
The harbour will play host to a range of other free activities including kids face painting and bouncy castles, a suitcase market, roving buskers and more.
