Here are some ideas and essential information to celebrate the upcoming NRL and AFL Finals this weekend.

If you are holding a party at your place, invite your guests at least an hour beforehand. The most important thing is to ensure your television is in the best location with plenty of seats, pillows and standing room. You may like to decorate with some balloons and paper plates in your team's colours, but there's no need to go overboard.

Make sure you serve plenty of nibbles on side tables like chips, vegetable crudités, dips and spicy nuts. Place the drinks in the fridge the day before the event so they are chilled.



AFL Toyota Grand Final

The Australian football grand final will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday 1st October 2016 between the Sydney Swans and the Western Bulldogs at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The pre-game show will feature Sting, Vance Joy and The Living End and start at 2:00pm on Channel 7.



NRL Telstra Premiership

The rugby league grand final will be held on Sunday 2nd October 2016 at 7:15pm between Melbourne Storm and Cronulla Sharks at the ANZ Stadium. The entertainment will feature Keith Urban, RSO (Richie Sambora and Orianthi) and a pyrotechnics and lighting display with a tribute to the some of the best Grand Final moments. The pre-game coverage will start on Channel Nine from 6:30pm.
