Studio Ghibli is one of the most beloved animation studios in the entire world. The Japanese film studio was founded in 1985 by directors Hayao Miyazaki, Isao Takahata and producer Toshio Suzuki after the success of the 1984 film Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind which was written and directed by Miyazaki.

Studio Ghibli has been producing high-quality anime films for over 30 years. Nine of their films are listed among the top 30 highest grossing anime films of all time with their 2001 film, Spirited Away, sitting at number two on the list.

Many of their films have either won or been nominated for awards and most have an average Rotten Tomato score of between 70 and 95%.

The company's mascot is Totoro, from their film My Neighbour Totoro.

Studio Ghibli has produced some very memorable films over the years that have rivalled the magic of Disney. Some of their most popular titles include Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Ponyo, Kiki's Delivery Service, Princess Mononoke, The Wind Rises, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind and Arrietty.

Hayao Miyazaki is the most famous director at Studio Ghibli. He has had a hand in writing, directing and producing several of their biggest hits. He is regarded as a legendary storyteller and one of the greatest animation directors of all time.
