World Sake Day is coming soon! The story goes back to October 1, 1978 when the Japan Sake and Shochu Makers Association proclaimed it as Sake Day. It's a tribute to the Japanese origin alcoholic beverage made of fermented rice. The day marks the first day of the Sake-making season in Japan. The event recognises sake and its contributions to Japanese culture and also commemorates its history and numerous skilled brewers.

It's time to raise our sake glasses and kanpai together to usher one of the most important events for sake aficionados! Let this be your guide for the upcoming World Sake Day.



Shukuu Izakaya
Shukuu Izakaya presents Sake Sake 2017, a vibrant bash to celebrate all things about sake. It is one of the top sake bars in the Lion City. Expect a selection of 24 specially curated sakes from Japan's famous breweries.

Each ticket holder is entitled to 10 tasting glasses of sake or Japanese dishes. This enables the ticket holder to appreciate the nuances and intricacies of each sake. They can delve into the three distinct sake stations and join sake educational seminars at 3pm and 6pm conducted by four fully certified in-house Sake Sommeliers who will share their insights and tips about sake. Sumiya
Sumiya, a Japanese restaurant voted as the best Japanese casual dining in 2016, is throwing a celebration party this Sunday to commemorate International Sake Day.

Kanpai Set is available for only $18.80 instead of $22.40. The set consists of Sumiya Original Bamboo Sake, Edamame, and Fried Popcorn Chicken.

All guests will receive a complimentary cup of bamboo sake if they take part in the toasting event and join the group photo session at 7.30pm.

SAKE DAY Celebration Event
It will be the 4th celebration of Sake Day with celebrations happening simultaneously in both Singapore and Japan. Guests will be joining over 100,000 people toasting through live streaming.

They can try all varieties of sake such as sparkling sake as well as a selection of food curated by Ms. Mariko for this event.

The 5th Sake Samurai, Ms. Mariko, and renowned brewery owners from Miwa Brewery in Gifu Prefecture, will share their insights of sake and tasting tips.
