Join a Bollywood dance show in Chinatown Mall
On August 15, 1947, India gained independence from British rule and ever since then, August 15 is celebrated with an annual holiday in India. Brisbane's Chinatown Mall is hosting a colourful festival on August 17, 2013 to mark our own Indian Independence Day. Head along to see whirling saris, feast on Indian curries, sip authentic chai tea and maybe stock up on jingling metal bracelets at the markets.

There is a fantastic program of entertainment to keep you on your toes and feel like your on the Indian Subcontinent for the night.
5.00pm - 10.00pm - Free Henna Tattoos with Chaitali 5.00pm - 10.00pm - Indian Market Stalls 6.30pm - Saikat, Full Traditional Indian Classical Raga performance, with tanpura accompaniment. 7.00pm - Yoga Demonstration with Rodney Turpin, join the class to learn some basic standing postures and meditative balances. 7.30pm - Brisbane Babas Band, Bollywood and Bhangra song performed by this energetic group of musicians.
8.00pm - Bollywood Dharmaka, be entertained by this fun filled performance and learn some classic Bollywood moves and folk dances at the same time. 8.30pm - Groovai, Jazz with an Indian twist. 9.00pm - Brisbane Babas Band, more Bollywood and Bhangra songs as the festival atmosphere heats up.
9.30pm - Bollywood Dharmaka, dance the night away with this entertaining group of traditional Indian dancers.
