Each year, on January 26th, the Village and its many volunteers celebrate Australia Day which marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships into Port Jackson, in New South Wales, and the first raising of the flag of Great Britain, by Governor Arthur Philip."In contemporary Australia, celebrations reflect the diverse society and landscape of the nation, and are marked by community and family events, reflections on Australian history, official community awards, and citizenship ceremonies welcoming new immigrants into the Australian community" (Wikipedia)

On Monday 26th January, the Village will open at 9 am ready for a day of great activities for all the family. Children under 15 years of age will be admitted FREE. Adult price is $10, which includes entry to the Dave Reynolds and the Travelling Show Band performance - A Tribute to Slim Dusty.

There are many activities planned for the day including a parade of antique vehicles, Percheron horses and carts, and characters in costume. There will also be a range of other activities which includes re-enactments, toad racing, and music by Dave Reynolds, the Uke Jukes and the Kilties Scottish Band and displays by the Red Dragon Martial Arts group.There's also a Beard Competition, three Axemen will be wood chopping near the Axemen's Hall of Fame and a Treasure Hunt with the first correct entry drawn winning $1000 in coins.

A range of stalls will be in the Village including various food stalls. You will be able to buy home-made pickles and jams, and steak sandwiches from the Long Yard Beef Company who will also demonstrate the best methods for cooking great steaks on the BBQ. The popular Sausage Sizzle will be there too. Our Pub will be open as will the Boiling Billy Tea Room and the Redhall Café.

Visitors can explore the many Museums in the Village – including the Maritime Museum with replicas of the First Fleet, the 11th Light Horse Museum, and the only Museum in the southern hemisphere dedicated to birds and poultry.

The Blacksmith will be in action as will a wide range of other activities in the Village.

Have you seen the Police Museum with its collection of items from Boggo Road Gaol in the old lock-up? Have you seen the collection of china items in the China House? The Gem Club, Pottery and Antique Machinery Restoration exhibit? There are over 70 buildings in the Village – a great place to visit and reminisce or learn about the early history of Australia, especially the history of the local Caboolture area.

The Caboolture Historical Village is the Number One tourist spot in the Moreton Bay region.

As well, the official opening of the new Visitor Information Centre – where tourists and visitors can call in for information about the many other tourist places in the Moreton Bay region.

The Caboolture Historical Village is just north of the Caboolture Showgrounds on Beerburrum Road, beside the State Equestrian Centre.
