Marco the Magician, complete with a magic black cape and top hat,will perform his magic show at the store's restaurant.
• Treasure Hunt
Kids can collect a puzzle from special greeters at the front entrance. They can then follow the path through the store to find the answer and drop in their answers at the Swedish Food Market (located after the checkouts) to redeem a prize.
• Crafting Sessions
Favourite films for the juniors will run throughout the celebratory week (29 June to 5 July) with sessions daily at 1.30pm and 7pm. Check with the store for details
• Furniture building competition
At Springvale you can take part in a unique building competition, taking on IKEA co-workers at their own game. And girls, let's face it, this will be a battle of the sexes, the ultimate test to prove that reading the instructions really does help. If you can beat the experts you can take home the product, as well as a $50 IKEA gift voucher. Sign up in-store and challengers will be selected at random. Sessions each day from 29 June to 5 July at 4 pm.
• Celebrate Midsummer
It may be midwinter in Australia but what's a season or two between friends?Midsummer in Sweden is celebrated with a traditional smörgåsbord feast, and Swedish meatballs, of course. IKEA's version of all this Nordic fun is happening over 2 big nights -Saturday 4 July and Sunday 5 July commencing at 5.30pm.
