I enjoy writing about Adelaide and its many attractions. If you think Adelaide is boring,
the problem is not with Adelaide.

I noticed recently that some people subscribe to the "Escape the City" category, so thought I might offer a real escape from Adelaide.
Now there aren't many towns further from Adelaide than Ceduna, but if you are an oyster lover or enjoy travelling then this one is for you.
Fresh Oysters Served With Lemon (image from Wikipedia)
The Ceduna Oysterfest has been an annual event since 1991, celebrating the high quality oysters that are harvested from the clean waters of SA's far west. It features delicious oysters from Smoky Bay and Denial Bay, to be enjoyed with a wine, entertainment, live music, competitions and more.
There will be the Oysterfest Street Parade, cultural dance displays, art and craft demonstrations, and the South Australian Oyster Opening Championship.
Celebrities attending will include Fast Ed from the popular TV show Better Homes and Gardens and magician and comedian Phil Cass.
The Oysterfest will be held from 27 – 30 September, and if you're are driving there you should take a look at The Giant Cuttlefish on a guided dive near Whyalla. Check out the images - they are incredibly colourful.
Another event worth a look while you are on the Eyre Peninsular is the Brush with Art Exhibition which takes place at a number of towns near the Flinders Ranges (see separate article).
If you can't make it, have your own Oysterfest at home with some of their delicious recipes.
