New dog parks seem to be opening up everywhere these days, and Mitcham Council has given its residents one at the . It's a large fully enclosed area in Panorama, and comes with a range of facilities for your petulant pooch.

There are a number of open ended pipes for dogs to run through, and some wave poles for owners who wish to test their dog's agility.

If your dog is a bit overweight perhaps a regular session over the jump bars may help, after which he will probably want to use one of the dog height drink fountains.

Owners haven't been forgotten, with bench seats placed strategically around the park, and two shelters provided for when it's hot or wet. Poo bag dispensers are available near entrances.

There is also a children's playground about 50m away, so there's fun available for all the family.

The only criticism I would make is that there is no lawn or groundcover, so the park can be muddy in winter and dusty in summer. Apart from that, the Mitcham Council have done a great job.

I know some dogs that are jumping for joy about this park.
