Do your teens have a tendency to tell tales out of school? What better way to channel this than through creative writing.
On Thursday 2 October, the Children's Book Council of Australia and the State Library of NSW are hosting a workshop with Will Kostakis: "
Short Stories that Stick: Writing Short Stories that Capture Readers". The workshop is geared towards writers aged 14-18 years old who are enthusiastic about writing, developing writing technique and participating in discussions about creative writing ideas.
Talented teens will get the opportunity to spend a day with Will Kostakis, a successful 24 year old Sydney based published author. As one of very few teenagers who have been published in Australia, he knows his stuff and the participants will hang on his every word.
The workshop will be held in the amazing Glasshouse Learning Space at the State Library of NSW and participants will learn how to craft stories that hook readers from the start. This is the only time this workshop will be run with Will Kostakis and is a unique opportunity to meet not only this inspiring author, but other teens who are passionate about stories and writing.
Participants will finish the day with a new short story that Will Kostakis has personally edited.
The fee for the 6 hour workshop is $70 and a discount is available for Children's Book Council Junior members. There are a small number of financial support places available.
With only 30 spaces available for this workshop, book now so you don't miss out.
