Caxton Street on Game Day

It's rugby season again, but before I scare all of you non-football lovers off, rest assured that this is not about sport, it's about the spectacle: the spectacle of Caxton Street on game day.

When there is a game at Suncorp Stadium, be it the Reds, the Broncos, the Roar, the Maroons or anyone for that matter, whether you are going to the game or not, if you like people watching and a carnival atmosphere Caxton Street is well worth a visit.

Get a drink, a seat and a view at one of the bars along Caxton Street, roughly an hour or two before kick-off, sit back and watch the horde of fans pour down towards the stadium. People may talk about Brisbane being just like a small country town, where you can't swing a cat without hitting someone you know, but when you see the thousands of people, most of them strangers, streaming towards the game, you'll realise just how big and diverse Brisbane really is.

Some of the best places for your viewpoint are:
The Caxton Hotel
Cartel Bar

Check out the Suncorp Stadium event calendar and plan your next people-watching extravaganza.
