A visual feast of great food
On a busy roundabout in the leafy suburb of Gladesville is a cafe that has attracted a loyal following. When my companion and I arrived at Cav & Co. just before lunchtime, there was a buzzy vibe in this eatery. Customers were involved in animated conversations, staff took orders and served food in an orderly manner and eye-catching meals wafted past. Cav & Co. recently celebrated their first anniversary and there are signs that this cafe will have many more celebrations ahead. Cav & Co.'s indoor area has lovely greenery around the walls giving this eatery a warm feel. The cafe is dog-friendly and gas heaters provide warmth to the outdoor seating area.
Their menu offers an all-day brunch which includes Cavocado Smash. Burgers, salads and wraps are served from midday and the kids menu is served all day. I chose the spectacular Cavlova French Toast with chunks of meringue, creamy vanilla mascarpone, delectable pearls of sweet fruit, berry compote, pistachio crumble, fresh fruit & maple syrup was a standout. A customer nearby commented, "I was eyeing that dish, I must come back for that another time."
