Max Brenner in Melbourne Central 211 La Trobe St, Melbourne (Shop OE5 Menzies Alley)
Sunday 9 October 2016 - 2pm to 5pm Please RSVP
The message is simple. Would you like to brighten the day of a long term sick or terminally ill child in hospital? Would you like to knit a beanie for newborn babies? If the answers to both questions are YES, YES, YES, come along to Max Brenner as per details above. Find out more about the event here.
RSVP HERE. Bring along your mobile or tablet and you should be able to connect to Melbourne Central's WIFI, as you'll need to look up the list of children on the partner sites.
Materials will be provided i.e. postcards, pens, pencils, wool and knitting looms. However, you are also welcome to be charitable for this 'do good' cause of Cause Corps Melbourne by bringing your own postcards and wool. If you're a knitter, there's always that odd ball of wool hanging around the house. Now it has a chance to breathe and be useful for a good cause.
What would you write in a postcard to kids you don't know? It can be about anything you like. Stories about you or others, illustrations, jokes, poems and so on for starters, or if you're already a champ card maker, you could get really creative. Your simple act of kindness will brighten their day and take their mind off being in hospital. Your beanies for newborn babies in Nepal will help keep them warm during winter. Come along to this feel good community event and perhaps make some new friends too.
