CATS, the musical is coming to Kingaroy. It will be showing over the last two weekends of August between Friday 22 August and Saturday 30 August. This production is presented by the South Burnett Musical Comedy Society. For Sue Dowideit-Reiger, this is her first production as assistant director/musical director. "This has been a very rewarding and enriching experience" said Sue.
The cast members are all from the South Burnett and range in age from 5 To 85. Ted Wall started performing in musicals at the age of 60. His first performance was in 'Irene'. He has performed in one musical every year for the last 25 years and has been with the South Burnett Musical and Comedy Society since 1998. Ted said that he felt it was wonderful for young people to feel welcome.
For Eleanor Nicholson (age 13) and Kaitlyn Clancy (age 14), this is their first musical. Eleanor said she auditioned because she thought it would be a fun and enjoyable experience, a great opportunity to wear a cat costume and a chance to catch up with old friends. Kaitlyn auditioned for the chance of a fun experience and opportunity to meet like-minded people and just have fun.
