The Brisbane season is of the acclaimed West End revival production of CATS and stars Delta Goodrem. Delta will sing Memory, one of the most well-known songs of all time, once you hear this version you will never look at a cat in the same way again.

CATS is one of the longest-running shows in West End and Broadway history. Since its world premiere at the New London Theatre in 1981 it continued winning over audiences for over 21 record-breaking years and almost 9,000 performances. Since that world premiere, CATS has been presented in over 30 countries, translated into 15 languages and seen by over 73 million people worldwide.

This whole new revival production of CATS has a complete new generation of Australian audiences joining the CATS' legacy.

Already nominated for a 2015 Olivier Award the revival production has seen the early production reworked by the original creative team of, director Trevor Nunn, associate director and choreographer, Gillian Lynne, designer John Napier and composer Andrew Lloyd Webber. This refreshing change led to the London Palladium Theatre being sold-out during its 2014/15 run.

Based on T. S. Eliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats, the new show is set in a larger-than-life junkyard playground alive with everybody's favourite feline characters including Grizabella, Rum Tum Tugger, Mr. Mistoffelees, Macavity, Jennyanydots, Old Deuteronomy and Skimbleshanks. You will be amazed by the introduction of a rapping 'street cat' in the famous Rum Tum Tugger role. Just wait until you see the serious breakdancing moves this cat gets up to!

The Jellicle Ball sees the Jellicle Cats come out to play where one by one they tell their stories for the amusement of Old Deuteronomy, their wise and benevolent leader. Old Deuteronomy must choose one of the Cats who will then ascend to The Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a whole new Jellicle life. Which one will it be?

So, don't delay, have a look at the Lyric Theatre, QPAC page, select the show that best suits and choose your seat. It's so easy to make sure you don't miss out.

CATS, was originally produced by Cameron Mackintosh and The Really Useful Group Limited. It is now presented by Lunchbox Theatrical Productions, David Atkins Enterprises and BASE Entertainment Asia in association with The Really Useful Group.
