Cathrine and her band will explore from the roaring 20's through to the 50's, featuring many of their (and hopefully yours) favourite jazz standards.
Songs like 'As Time Goes By' featured throughout the incredible movie 'Cassablana' and 'Moon River' from 'Breakfast at Tiffany's'. Other outstanding classics feature in this upbeat show such as 'I Get A Kick Out of You', 'Cheek to Cheek', 'Anything Goes' and many more.
Amid all of these songs Cathrine weaves the rich tapestry of the period, featuring the biggest stars of the time – Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, Judy Garland, Gene Kelly, Julie Andrews, and many more kings and queens of the stage and screen.
Be transported into a Parisian jazz club for an enchanting show presented by Cathrine Summers and her band. Come and get lost in the magic of yesteryear in Paris, featuring performances of French classics such as Edith Piaf's 'Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien', Charles Trenet's 'Que Restet Il', 'Milord', and many more songs reminiscent of the era such as Ella Fitzgerald's rendition of 'April in Paris'.
UK-born Summers' spent much of her time living and holidaying in France in her younger days where she fostered a love of the French language and a deep appreciation of the countries passionate music, passionate history and it's romanticism. Together with her quartet, Cathrine will present a host of toe-tapping favourites from the classic ladies of jazz such as Ella Fitzgerald, Dinah Washington, Billie Holiday, Sarah Vaughan, Nina Simone and Julie London. Also featuring in this delightful collection are songs from velvety, playful and emotive iconic songs from the likes of Peggy Lee, Edith Piaf and Doris Day.
