What a beautiful setting for a unique and captivating show! The Melba Spiegeltent is quite stunning - the beautiful wooden architecture is worth seeing, the venue quite intimate and, with a show lasting about an hour, the wooden chairs were surprisingly comfortable.
The show itself was thoroughly enjoyable, from start to finish. Jazz band 'Kissing Harriet', fronted by vocalist Lizzy Gascoigne, treats your senses to something very special - just close your eyes and let the soothing melodic sounds, in between acts, melt away any tension.
Magician Cath Jamison is recognised worldwide for her style of magical performances. Highly interactive with the audience, magical tricks aplenty led to many moments of laughter and awe. There are some of the classic tricks (ie.'slicing' a brave audience member), yet also many stunts that are more illusory and quite captivating. A theme of 'love' seemed to be interspersed in the performance, which was quite lovely. Be alert, make sure to leave with all your money and jewellery! Animal lovers will be happy to know there are no live animals in the show.
A bar at the rear offered refreshments. A show lasting an hour, it went by in a flash, and there are no intermissions. A camera recorded the show and, at times, the watching audience.
