The Roaring 20's and all that Jazz Festival is about to start in the Blue Mountains and the Blue Mountains Flyer may offer us Sydney-siders the perfect way to get there. Running on Saturday February 2, the Flyer will be picking people up at Sydney Central, Strathfield, Westmead and Penrith stations.

After you have enjoyed the changing views, the Flyer will then set passengers off at both Leura and Katoomba. If you choose to get off at Leura, you will be lucky enough to enjoy The Blue Mountains Charleston Challenge (an attempt to set a world record for the biggest Charleston street dance), which will take place at 12.00pm. There will also be vintage cars and musical entertainment at Leura Mall. At Katoomba, you can enjoy Scenic World , galleries and more.



The cost of catching the Blue Mountains Flyer depends on what class you are travelling in and where you intend to get on and off the train.

Standard Class
In Standard Class, you will be able to enjoy the heritage train's 1920s-era compartment carriages, as well as free musical entertainment.

Standard Class Tickets
The Standard Class tickets from Sydney Central, Strathfield or Westmead stations cost $105.00 for adults, $100.00 for seniors, $75.00 for youths (between 17 and 24 years) and $50.00 for children (between 3 and 16 years, as well as older school students).

If you want to catch the Blue Mountains Flyer from Penrith, Standard Class is your only option. These tickets cost $85.00 for adults, $80.00 for seniors, $65.00 for youths and $40.00 for children.

Aurora Class
An Aurora Class ticket will allow you to enjoy the spacious, air-conditioned Lounge-&-Bar carriages from the 1960s-era luxury interstate express, Southern Aurora. They have open lounge seating, panoramic windows and a cash bar. You will also get morning and afternoon snack packs, which will be served to your seat.

These tickets cost $155.00 for adults, $150.00 for seniors, $125.00 for youths and $100.00 for children.

Premier Dining Class
In the air-conditioned Premier Dining Class you will get a freshly prepared brunch on the journey to the Blue Mountains and a High Tea on the return trip, with an at-your-table waiter service.

Premier Dining Class Tickets
Premier Dining Class tickets cost $175.00 for adults, $170.00 for seniors, $145.00 for youths and $120.00 for children.

Lounge Class
Lounge Class is only available to those getting on the Blue Mountains Flyer at Sydney Central. These passengers will be relaxing with spacious, open-lounge seating, a private observation deck and quality refreshments and platters served throughout the day.

Lounge Class Tickets
The Lounge Class tickets cost $225.00 per passenger.

A discount of 10% applies to groups of nine or more on all tickets. Infants under 3 years old (if not occupying a seat) are free.

Timetable
The train will depart from each station at the following times:

Sydney Central: 8.30am
Strathfield: 8.45am
Westmead : 9.00am
Penrith: 9.30am
Leura: 10.50am
Katoomba: 11.05am

On the return journey, it will be at each station at the following times:
Katoomba: 3.00pm
Leura: 3.15pm
Penrith: 4.30pm
Westmead : 5.00pm
Strathfield: 5.15pm
Sydney Central: 5.30pm
