Directed by Will Braden, CatVideoFest 2024 will be screening at 129 Cinemas from 17-20 October only. Rated G and with a run time of 75 mins, a portion of box office from each cinema will go to their designated local animal shelter, and/or animal welfare organisation. This unique event has also encouraged adoptions, fostering, volunteer sign-ups and much more. I have to admit to not being into cats, but after watching this film, I felt strangely calm, enjoyed some of the antics, and caught myself thinking - it may not be so bad having a cat. Whaaat!!

This compilation has spawned from the latest and best cat videos culled from countless hours of unique submissions and sourced animations, music videos and classic internet powerhouses. There are grumpy cats, feisty cats, acrobatic cats, helpful cats, cuddly cats. Cats playing the piano. Cats gleefully annoying dogs, cats demanding attention 2026Cats, Cats and more Cats! A cat lover's delight though it may be, it's family-friendly and can be enjoyed by anyone. The adage the more the merrier couldn't be truer in this instance as it serves two purposes. Another saying - the family that plays together stays together; so go with friends and family and have a jolly laugh together. Secondly, your watching this film fundraiser will help all the felines in need via local cat charities, animal welfare organisations, and shelters, and that's a noble thing to do indeed.

Be prepared for kitty videos, back to back on the big screen. Some you may well have seen on 'Instagram' - because I thought I recognised a couple. You'll be viewing clips as they were sent in by the content creators with no real narrative or uniformity between clips. It's in no way a polished re-worked and directed cinematic experience, which I kind of wished it was. Cat Video Fest is exactly what you imagine it to be; a series of non-stop cat videos, some better than others. There are a couple of gems in there with an instalment of Braden's (the Director) own short film about Henri the depressed French existential cat; and my goodness was that cat depressed. There's also an animation clip that broke up the back-to-back reels of real cats, which was a bit of a refreshing breather for me.

Some of the antics that the cats get into - put a smile on your face, then there are the musical cats, and amongst it, a touching story of a cat that suffered epileptic fits and was soothed and healed by music in a sense. These are the little nuggets that melt your heart; so get out of the house and watch cat videos on the big screen and not on your phones, because you'll be helping raise money for shelters. If that's all you have to do to help, it's an easy peasy ask. If you're a cat lover, go along and have a laugh with like-minded others. This is the easiest most joyful fundraiser you're bound to come across. It asks nothing of you but to attend, have a laugh, and feel good at the thought of helping these funny felines.
